Production Week 7



Lasso and throwing Animation

After lots of research on possible ways to do this, I decided to just animate the rope separately from the ring since that makes rigging, skinning and testing easier. Since the lasso is quite small I could get away with a basic animation. Skinning still took a while. Ring animation will follow.

Problems:
Animations not changing state
Animations change state but don't show the new animation
Animations work in an empty scene but not in the main game

Game loop

Players now got numbered names which gets printed to the console when the game ends. The game now ends (goes back to main menu) when there is only one player left or the escape pod is fueled up. At the start of the game there will be a 5 sec timer which allows the players to spawn in.

UI

The indicator that shows where the pod is will now be visible in the top left corner when the pod leaves the camera view. The progress bar to see how far the escape pod is fueled will now also be visible on top of the screen. (the animation is still glitched in the actual game)

Planet walking

The player has very basic planet walking functionality, this will still need tweaking, and tweaks to the gravity of the planets to not make it feel off.

UI

Symbol to show where the escape pod is:



Fuel progress bar to show how much fuel is currently in the pod. The particles on the radial bar are not working properly yet.
